Do I have a Strep Throat?

I went to the doctor, and I had no temp, and she did a strep culture, and did a rapid strep test, well it came up negative, but on Friday night at 9:30pm which was May 20th I felt a sore throat, and by the next morning Saturday May 21st I could barely swallow, and I have thee most sorest throat I have ever had in my life and I feel like the back of my tongue is swollen. I started getting sniffles along with it though like itchy nose, and runny nose, but now when I came home from the doc's I have a full blown runny/stuffy nose and a really super bad sore throat and also a really bad cough. My question is Do you think it's still strep even though the strep test was negative? Do you think it's just a really bad cold? I never had a cold like this where it started off as a sore throat and boom the runny nose and cough came on like in a matter of hours, usually it would be like I have a sore throat for 2 or 3 days then the runny nose will come on, but what do you guys think. Also she said she wont be sending it to the lab because she doesn't think it's strep, but tell me what you guys think.
