Will my cat come back? *sniffle*?

3 days ago my cat had a fight and some other cat bit his front left arm, he walked on 3 legs so i took him to the vet 3 days later (today, only day i had free time). the vet said hes fine, gave him 2 injections (some anti-biotic or w/e) gave me some pills to feed him day and night. after that i took my cat home left him inside for the rest of the day (as the vet had suggested). after a while he kept 'meowing' me so i thought he was hungry and gave him some food, which he didnt want. then i knew he needed to urinate so i let him go outside to 'get it done' after that he ran off somewhere and couldnt get him back. i always put food into a rice bowl and hammer it with a spoon and he knows that that means 'yummy food'. i did that trick to try and lure him back into the house, its been almost 6 hrs and hes still not back. im scared something might've happened, will he come back tomorrow morning? another thing ever since i first had him he never slept outside at night i always have him sleep in the house, so this is the first night he 'could' be sleeping outside. im worried about his arm and i miss him, will he come back and if not what should i do? *sniffle* :'(
